SONIQS was founded together with multi-instrumentalist and sound experimenter Sebastian Merk, who has created a drum set combining keyboards, electronics, and video art, allowing him to operate with great freedom and intuition. Among his sonic tools are dissected, sampled vocal fragments from Céline’s voice, which he passes through sound filters and rhythmically reassembles, as well as complete vocal melodies that serve as looped “songlines” underlying the compositions. Despite its complexity, the music always maintains a sense of lightness and playful song quality.

In addition to music, Céline Rudolph also writes music-independent poems, which SONIQS spontaneously sets to music. They are constantly sent on a sonic journey during live performances, evolving into new songs. Sound artist Sebastian Studnitzky on trumpet and piano, himself a wanderer between worlds, creates a poetic cosmos within SONIQS. With Cuban musician Regis Molina, Céline brings another explosive and archaic force to the band. His language on alto saxophone and flute awakens the spirit of a ceremonial master.
